Most AI tools hide their reasoning. GrayTell shows you everything — every search query, every page it read, every step of reasoning. We believe AI should be like a research assistant who leaves their notes on your desk, not a black box that hands you an answer and walks away.

GrayTell started as a simple question: what if you could watch an AI research something in real time? One person, one codebase, one vision — and now the way it works is documented openly for everyone.

    Anubhav Sapkota starts building a multi-provider AI research agent — the idea: one interface, every model, real-time cited answers.

    5 providers, 30+ models

    Groq, Mistral, Ollama Cloud, OpenRouter, and ZAI all wired up through a unified streaming architecture. The Ollama NDJSON-to-SSE adapter ships.

    13 research tools live

    Web search, page reader, and 11 social/academic tools (Reddit, X, GitHub, arXiv, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Snapchat, site map) all callable by the agent.
